Welcome to Schoolshistory.org.uk

Parts of this site have recently been redeveloped. Students will find the GCSE sections easier to navigate and the whole of the teachers section has been redesigned to make the full range of resources more accessible.

New features:

New site for medicine through time. Updated regularly!

As sections are developed a Multimedia section is being added. Currently these include examples of Video, Music and other multimedia resources which can be used to enhance lessons. Once all of the the content of the site has received its facelift, the next stage in site development will incorporate the creation of original multimedia resources for classroom use.

The Multimedia Section has been featured in The Yorkshire Post, The Guardian and on BBC Breakfast News, with a second appearance here (the introduction is the same but the interview that follows is different). Click here for the youtube version of the resources.

The online lessons section has been streamlined and a few new additions are listed. There is also a new section outlining activities for classroom use. This currently provides a range of active learning exercises, revision games and a series of recommended links to other highly effective resources.

CPD and Inset. This section highlights excellent forthcoming CPD / Inset opportunities provided by Ian Dawson, the Schools History Project and the Historical Association. It also provides links to online CPD and seminars. In the coming months a series of training resources will be made available via this section, based on inset that I have provided in relation to the use of ICT in the history classroom.
