King John - writing an obituary

This activity requires you to select relevant information from the sources provided. You must then use it to write about the life of King John. Different sections of the activity require you to show John as a Good King who will be sadly missed and as a bad King who the country is glad to see the back of!

Help! I don't know what an obituary is!!!

Developing your ICT skills

The format of the page you will be working on is very boring and there are a few things that aren't really effective. That's deliberate! You need to use your ICT skills to reformat the page. You can alter the font, the text colour, in fact you can alter anything you want - so long as you write about each of the things that are specified in the text boxes.

What historical skills am I developing?

You will be finding suitable information and using it for a specific purpose. That's a form of historical inquiry that also helps you to identify and evaluate different interpretations. There's also a requirement to create a timeline of john's life - this should improve your understanding of the the chronology of his reign.

To access the Obituary you require MS Word. If you use a different Word processing program please contact me and I'll see if I can help you!
