Castles. This section looks at the development of castles and fortified structures from the Iron Age through to the English Civil war. This site welcomes submissions of any materials, photographs, activities or links that you may have related to Castles or any other period of history. An excellent read. This provides a great deal of interesting information about medieval fortresses. Covering the rise and decline of castles, this book has some fantastic photographs in it that students will find extremely useful. |
This book explores the life and thought of the Middle Ages with particular emphasis on the influence of the castle, a military society with all its faults and virtues. |
