Weapons and Technology in the First World War Warfare leads to technological change, innovation on the battlefield and deployment of a range of old and new tactics. The First World War was no different in this respect and saw the development of a large number of new weapons, and continued deployment of weaponry that had been in use for centuries. Activities: Consider the impact that emerging forms of technology will have on tactics using these two activities. Will the technological advances make a breakthrough on the Western Front more, or less, likely?
