Ancient Greece: Hints

Hints for Question 1

The Greeks and Egyptians had similar religious beliefs.
Knowledge of the anatomy existed in Egyptian times due to mummification.
Natural causes and cures of diseases figured highly in both societies.
The Theory of the Four Humours looked for causes in a different way.
When answering a question like this make sure that you find SOME differences and SOME similarities. Provide examples of these to support your answer.

Hints for Question 2

Look for evidence of WAR. The Greeks would have attempted to heal wounds of soldiers. (Read Homer's section).

Don't presume that the statement is leading you in the right direction: it is possible that the Greeks did know how to heal these wounds.

Use knowledge of previous periods: if prehistoric man could cauterise and use 'pots' to heal broken bones then surely the Greeks could.
