What the social consequences of the Bridge are?

The Bridge has opened up a number of links betwen communities previously miles apart.The Government of the day also changed the name of the region to Humberside, not directly because of the bridge itself, but a move that would have been hard to manage if the bridge had not been in place. Jobs have been created by the construction of the bridge and many friendships, business links and greater scope for liaison have been the result of this expensive, and at times controversial construction.
