Investigating
Rome
There
are a number of problems connected to the study of Ancient
Rome. For starters most of it has been destroyed, built
upon or lost. Add to this the problem of a lack of written
evidence and the investigation becomes somewhat more
difficult. There are however a number of documents available
written at the time and much can be learnt from the
remains of the surviving roman buildings. This investigation
looks at the Romans Public Health system.
Consider
the four sources below.
What
evidence is there of the Romans valuing Public Health?
Some
things to think about:
The
way that the road has been constructed.
The
reasons for cemeteries.
Why
people have baths!
