Student
Placemats
Many
students have problems recalling simple facts. They can easily
get events muddled up and are often unwilling to stick there
hand in the air and ask for help. These resources try to address
some of these issues.
Each
'Placemat' contains an overview of the events involved, enabling
students to quickly place thigns into the coreect chronological
sequence. There is a small bank of key words and useful definitions
to remind students of the terminology that they should be using.
Each Placemat also incorporates a small selection of sentence
starters that should come in handy over a course of study.

How
are the placemats used?
Quite
simple. They are printed out and laminated. They are then used
as resting mats by students who are writing on lined paper or
are available as reference sheets where students are writing
in exercise books. They can easily be reduced in size and stuck
into exercise books at the start of a new topic.
New
placemats will be uploaded shortly, they are being developed
in preparation for the next academic year.
