This section aims to provide a variety of teaching and learning resources and ideas for use by myself and colleagues.

    Classroom activities - active learning, roleplays and source investigations

    This section currently provides aselection of activities that are tried and tested in the classroom. Currently there are examples of effective groupwork, simulations and examples of how to make a radio programme in 'normal' lessons.

    This section hosts a range of excellent frames designed to aid pupils in their construction of a variety of different reading, writing and presenting tasks.

    Differentiation

    This unit of the site currently hosts a selection of ideas about differentiation for:

    Gifted and Talented Students in History

    Covering identification of G&T students, definitions, charectoristics of gifted historians, examples of effective differentiation and examples of enrichment activities.

    Assessment for Learning

    A large selection of assessment activities, resources and methods of demonstrating targets to pupils. This extensive selection is the result of a large number of generous submissions to this site.

     

     

    Schemes of Work

    The Schemes of Work section hosts a number of example schemes of work submitted to the site, or previously created by myself.

    Note: This section needs updating to reflect changes to the National Curriculum at Key Stage 3.

     

     

    Literacy

    This section of the site, created jointly with schoolhistory.co.uk hosts a number of ideas about catering for Literacy needs of pupils, links to exemplar materials and resources for classroom use. Note: this section is in need of a tidy / update!

    Student Placemats - designed to be laminated and used as a 'help yourself' tool for students. These provide an easy reference point for key terms, dates and events along with providing some reminders about how to tackle focus questions.
